BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Networking is not only important for growing a customer base but making connections is important for small businesses to learn from others.
“As business spaces, we are all connected and that is the only way to grow and have a complete answer to the challenges that every industry faces,” explained Aubrey Lamb, sales manager for Wolf Disposals.
Lamb says he knows the everyday challenges running a small business faces. The disposal of the company has been around for about four years, but Lamb says everyday he is learning something new and that is why he takes advantages of meeting and talking with other growing businesses.
“Filling the gap between large companies and creating a space where local residents and communities can thrive,” Lamb added.
And that is why Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome’s office welcomed a business matchmaking event.
The day was packed with networking opportunities, educational workshops, and one-on-one matchmaking sessions, all designed to foster partnerships and growth.
“We recognize small businesses are the heartbeats of our city. “We also want to uplift our minority, women, and veteran owned businesses so they can have a pathway to success,” said Broome.
A pathway Lamb says will be beneficial for making even more connections as the business continues to grow.
“It allows small businesses like ourselves to be able to network and build resources with other small connections,” Lamb added.
