Jana Nayagan Hits Strong Growth on Day Ten

Jana Nayagan box office collection Day 10 shows a notable rebound, with the Vijay‑starrer posting a 119.7% jump in earnings over the previous Friday, according to the latest figures.

Saturday earnings push the film toward a domestic milestone

On its second Saturday, the movie recorded a net collection of Rs 7.80 crore in India, more than double Friday’s Rs 3.55 crore. The cumulative domestic net now stands at Rs 164.90 crore, while the gross reaches Rs 192.50 crore. This surge brings the picture close to the Rs 165 crore threshold that many analysts consider a benchmark for a hit in the Indian market.

Despite a reduced screen count compared with the opening week, demand remained robust, suggesting that weekend audiences are still eager to see the star‑driven action drama.

Language‑wise performance and occupancy trends

Jana Nayagan was shown in 4,202 screenings across the country on Day 10, a slight increase from the 4,165 shows on Friday. The Tamil version led the pack, earning Rs 7.25 crore from 2,503 shows with an overall occupancy of 51%. Occupancy rose steadily through the day, starting at 28% in the morning and climbing to 61.23% for night shows.

The Hindi edition contributed Rs 0.50 crore from 1,571 shows, registering a 20% occupancy overall. Night slots performed best at 28.36%, while morning shows lagged at 8.27%. The Telugu version added a modest Rs 0.05 crore from 128 shows, with 22% occupancy.

Overseas, the film added Rs 3 crore on Saturday, taking its international total to Rs 88 crore. Combined with domestic earnings, the worldwide gross now amounts to Rs 280.50 crore.

These numbers reflect a pattern seen in many Indian blockbusters, where a strong weekend can compensate for a slower weekday run. The picture’s ability to attract audiences across multiple language markets highlights the broad appeal of its lead star.

Jana Nayagan opened with a solid Rs 42.70 crore on Day 1, followed by Rs 21.15 crore on Day 2, Rs 28.90 crore on Day 3, and Rs 32 crore on Day 4. Weekday collections then fell to Rs 10.65 crore on Day 5, Rs 8 crore on Day 6, Rs 6.10 crore on Day 7, and Rs 4.05 crore on Day 8. The second week began with a modest Rs 3.55 crore on Day 9 before the Saturday bounce.

Directed by H. Vinoth, the movie features an ensemble cast including Vijay, Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Reba Monica John. Its plot follows a former police officer who confronts a powerful adversary and emerges as a leader in the fight against corruption.

From a broader perspective, the film’s performance illustrates how star power can sustain box‑office momentum even when a release encounters a mid‑week dip.

In markets where multiple language versions compete for screen space, a strong weekend can boost overall earnings, helping the picture edge closer to profitability thresholds that matter to producers and distributors alike.

Future days will determine whether the Saturday surge can be maintained. If the trend continues, the movie may comfortably surpass that domestic mark and solidify its status as one of the year’s top‑grossing releases.
